Paresh
Today Affinity is locking up, taking up a lot of memory & cpu. I have to go to task manager & close it down.
Alfred
Affinity Designer or Affinity Photo? Which version and on what platform? How much RAM do you have installed, and what type of CPU does your system have? Agreed on both counts! I was going to edit my post when I spotted that, but on reflection I thought it might be useful to know whether the OP is using Windows 10, 8.1, 8 or 7. Viewing the OP’s profile page now, I see indications of a switch from Windows 7 to Windows 10. Paresh
Thanks for yr interest. AP Version 1.6.4.104 (the trial), Win 10, 16 gb ram, not sure what cpu but it's a new computer & powerful. I did the trial on my old one/win 7 & there were crashes but it was old & slow, so I waited until I got a new one to do another trial before buying. I loaded an image & selected tone mapping & it locked up. Now I see it was 43 mb. I just retried it with the same result & then tried with a smaller image & it worked. If that's the cause, is there a workaround? Thanks for yr help! I want to learn affinity, at least for the basics so I'm sure I'll have more questions. Even if 43 MB is the size on disk of a heavily compressed file, it shouldn’t be unmanageably enormous when loaded into RAM (especially if you have 16 GB).
