Default template on mac

Hi i want to save a default template with preset canvas size and a green background for all of my documents, every time that i open up the app without needing to manually select anything. How do i do this? Thanks, Dan

Welcome to Affinity Forums
Currently Affinity apps don't support custom document templates. The best you can do is create a document as you want/need, save it, then open it and Save As with a new name everytime you want to use it as a base for a new document.

Just a hack: You could create one or several files as you want, save them and make them in the finder "unwrite-able". Then drag this file or an alias into your dock. Start with this item not with your regular AP-icon and you have your template which you can not save (overwrite by misstake) just create a copy with  "save as".

It isn't really a hack if you set the file's Locked attribute in its Info window.

If you are on a Mac you could also “Check” the ‘Stationery Pad’ box in the file’s Info window.
Every time you then open that file the OS will automatically duplicate it and it will be in the duplicated document that you will actually be working, leaving the original untouched.
