Good Morning.

A couple of us (Affinity Photo users) have asked this question on the youTube presentation "HDR from one exposure" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ar6CZvfyFvk&feature=youtu.be). In the video, the Develop Persona is set to 32-bit. However, as a single RAW file has only 12-14 bit depth, why are you setting the bit depth to 32 bit?

Regards,

Biff

Thanks for the reply, stokerg.

Having just applied the technique to a fairly high dynamic range photo, I must agree. I'm not sure on the how or why it works, but the highlight recovery (sky) showed that it works. However, I find that I need to change the colour format back to 16 bit RGB after the Tone mapping stage, otherwise everything's can go horribly wrong in the Photo persona (must have something to do with the linear response to curve adjustments in 32 bit).

Regards,

Biff
