Johan Crous
I am new to Affinity Designer. I just managed to get to work comfortly with Affinity Photo on PC. I have it since November. The Photo for iPad, I purchased about six weeks ago (when I purchased an iPad) and I manage. It is not so much different if you know Android. However, it was a learning process the learn how iOs operates. I purchased the iPad Designer a few days ago and I am trying to get my feet wet. I recently watched a video from Ian Atkinson, using Adobe Illustrate, where he place a camera photo (of a knife) on a document. He measured the length of the knife and then used a command where he states that measurement between two points. AI then scaled the document correctly. I assume he must specify somewhere what the paper size will be. He then draws outlines for his leather cut list to make a pouch and accurately prints them. Can this be done in Designer for iPad, or must I make two points, print and then calculates on what scale I must print and reprint? I can also start a template with the right dimensions and place a ruler image as a layer and then scale the object according to the ruler? gdenby
Hi Johan Crous, Certainly AD can rescale images by percents or by units. But I'm uncertain about what you are asking. Can you post an URL to the Adobe method? I suppose you need a specific piece of printed paper or digital file with cut lines for some specific cutting/plotter application, which is something I know little about. But creating the vectors should be pretty easy. Yes, I include the url for you. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PDZONrrCh64 I only want to draw cut lines for printing to the correct size on an ordinary A4 paper printer. pixelcoder
There is no measurement Tool afaik in AD. But you can use a rectangle and turn snapping on. When you expand the rectangle AD on iPad shows you the dimensions.
