Porting brushes from Designer iPad?

Recommended Posts

You can export any of the Designer iPad brush categories to cloud storage (like to iCloud Drive) & import them into the desktop app from there.

To export: select a brush category in the iPad Brushes Studio, for example Watercolours and Gouaches. Tap the icon at the top of the studio that looks like 3 lines in a box & choose "Export Brushes..." from the menu that pops up. In the next window choose a cloud storage folder & tap the "Add" button at the top right of that screen. For simplicity I suggest creating a cloud storage folder for such things -- I have one on my iCloud drive named (not too originally) as "Affinity Stuff," where I put brushes, fonts, & whatever.

To import: on the Mac, just navigate to that same cloud storage folder in Finder & double-click on the afbrushes file. It will be imported into the Mac Designer app.

I just purchased photo 2, how can I transfer my brushes from photo 1 to 2

If they were from the Affinity Store they can be installed automatically by the Account function. Otherwise you can reinstall from the original brush files, or you can export .afbrushes files from the Brushes Studio in V1 and then import into V2.

Unfortunately, automatic migration isn't possible on the iPad:
