Designer ipad & iMac workflow

Hello,
I'm concerned about the workflow between the iPad designer and iMac designer.
If I began a project on my iMac then open in it on the iPad version will I possibly end up with a corrupt file from constantly swapping back and forth?

I haven't seen any threads or mentions about this and would like to be assured before purchasing and iPad.

Which brings me to a second question that I haven't seen a solution to yet: How can we pre-purchase the iPad designer app?

Hi Paige!

Our files are designed to be seamlessly transferred between Desktop and iPad, including between Photo and Designer. We certainly wouldn't expect to see any corruptions from moving between platforms

I do not believe this is possible with Apple, due to the way their store system works. AFAIK you need to have the App Store open on an iPad to purchase the app since the iTunes 12.7 update.

Hi Paige!

Regarding the workflow between Macs & iPads, the Affinity Photo iPad - iPad/Desktop Interworking video tutorial applies equally well to Designer as to Photo. The critical thing is to save the file to a cloud folder & on the iPad to use "Open from Cloud," not "Import from Cloud," as the video shows at about 0:50.

Meanwhile, while you wait for your iPad, if you have not seen them already, you might want to check out the Designer for iPad videos here.

According to the email announcement I got from Affinity, the discount ends July 25 ... but for some weird reason that email also referenced a 27% discount off the regular price in Yen, so I am not sure how accurate it is outside of Japan (which is not where I live or where my Affinity accounts address info says I do).

Problem solved. The Apple store let me swap my iMac for an iPad Pro because it was only a few weeks old. 

Designer on the iPad is so awesome!! 

@R C-R you recommended  open from iCloud; because it is like file sharing that way? Or is there another reason?

I recommended it because you asked about the workflow between the iPad & Mac versions of Designer. If you watch the 'interworking' video it should become clearer why.
