FilipKr
What would be the best way to take designs or parts there off from designer to photo? thanks
Staff Gabe Posted July 12, 2018 Staff Share Posted July 12, 2018 Hi @FilipKr, Welcome to the forums. You can use the native file format (.afdesign or .afphoto) and you should be fine. This will keep everything in place. Thanks, Gabe.
FilipKr
Thanks Gabriel, I must honestly admit I am a bit of a roomy here. W.o.w I have no idea what you are saying. sorry I was hoping to be able to see a special save or export option for a drawing or part there off to open and or place into an existing image in affinity photo. not sure if I am making myself clear. thanks
Staff Gabe Posted July 12, 2018 Staff Share Posted July 12, 2018 I'm not really sure what do you mean by "part there off to open". You can save your work by going to File > Save or File > Save As, and you can open that saved file in Affinity Photo for further edits. It sounds like you are talking about the desktop apps. Since this is posted in the Affinity on iPad section, is that applicable for the iPad versions, & if so, how? Just use the open from Cloud etc and select the .afphoto photo file and it loads into Designer (and vice versa, though I haven't tried that yet). Staff Gabe Posted July 13, 2018 Staff Share Posted July 13, 2018 @R C-R, My bad. @FilipKr you can tap on the file icon > Save a Copy, or from the home screen, tap on the 3 horizontal lines, Save. Then you can open the file in the other app.
FilipKr
Sorry guys, for making this thing so confusing. I was mostly interesting in how files from either iPad apps would integrate between the two apps. I found the answer from the Affinity designer keynote. Here he shows at 18.20 minutes how to transfer files between the two apps. thanks for the effort guys. https://youtu.be/T5cC6t_WoHI Alfred
