asdfghjkloiwdjoiioens
Is there a way to create custom swatches?I would prefer to create a separate pallet but I can't even drag a swatch to an existing one.The color picker on the gradient FX tool is broken so I can't color pick from 'Recents'. This is frustrating the bejesus out of me. deeds
Hokusai
Braceyourself, Select the colour value that you want using the "Color" Palette and then click on the small palette options (it looks like 3 horizontal lines on the upper right side of the palette) you will see a "add color to swatch" and it will add the colour to your "Swatches" palette. asdfghjkloiwdjoiioens

Staff MEB Posted March 10, 2015 Staff Share Posted March 10, 2015 Hi Braceyourself, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) Click on the small icon menu on the right in the Swatches panel to create your own palettes (second section on the menu). asdfghjkloiwdjoiioens 1 Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
Hokusai
Braceyourself, MEB's explanation is good but I added this just to give you a visual aid. asdfghjkloiwdjoiioens and boussyboo

Bungle
So its just me then who finds creating palletes to be completely obtuse ? Click on the lines, click add color, panel shows, drag the color picker to the wanted color, then click on the color so that it is in the color box, then click add. But wait, just to run it in, the damn add color box now disappears, so you have to click on the lines, click add color.........on and on and on and on and on. Surely this is either the wrong way to do it or some cruel joke ?
Bungle
To be fair, the entire color picker system in general is terrible in affinity, drag the color picker, then have to click the color you just selected so it can be used by tools WTF ? There should at least be a prefs tick box to make it instantly available, you know to people who have used every other piece of software that ever existed. Affinity is great, but sometimes they just reinvent the wheel and make it white noise shaped !
