How do I go from a curve to a straight line?

Recommended Posts

Using the Pen tool I am trying to draw a line that starts with a curve but then I want the next portion to be straight. I Illustrator I would draw the curve and click the last point and then I could start drawing straight again. I believe pressing the P key would do the same. I can't figure out how to do this in Designer. I can only follow a curve segment connected to a curve segment. I hope that makes sense.

The 'next' segment will appear curved if there is an extending control point. To delete the extending control point, click it with Option/Alt held down. You can click any off-curve handle at any time with Option held down and it will be removed. Similarly, clicking an on-curve node with Option held down will make the off-curve nodes on both sides of the node disappear and the point will become sharp
