Hang while renaming a folder in the Open dialog

It won't if you have a file open or if you had a file OPENED in Affinity. Also Affinity can hang onto a file even after you have closed it out. In any of those scenarios, you cannot rename the file nor it's parent folder. Windows is notorious for that too. Plan on renaming the folder (or filoe) In Windows explorer after closing Affinity or whatever product is locking the file. (Often that can be "system"

I installed a small utility called "File Unlocker" which can usually unlock in these situations from the context menu. There are others and none do it perfectly although if one fails, another might work

You have posted in the beta forum, normally reserved for Beta bug reports.

Please can you tell us if you are using the release version Affinity Designer V1.6.4 .104 or you are using the beta build 1.6.5.119 (linked to in this forum post). You can find out the version number in the splash screen using the Menu option Help > About
