Release Date of Affinity Publisher

Hmmm. Wouldn't that depend on if "their midnight" is based on their business location in Nottingham or their server's location that the beta can be downloaded from? Assuming they are using Amazon's content delivery network, that could mean have meant many different midnight deadlines for users in different parts of the world.

None of that changes my ‘BST or not’ interpretation, but (thankfully!) it’s all irrelevant now.

  • We will have deep integration with our other apps (check out the persona buttons!) However, we need to push an update to Photo and Designer before this works - we’ll let you know when.

Ok, my bad. I should try to read first...

I guess it is too soon to ask if Publisher will find its way to iPad?

Our press release says

Quote

The beta version of Affinity Publisher is for Mac and Windows only. An iPad version will follow later, as with Affinity Designer and Affinity Photo, Apple’s reigning iPad App of the Year.

I don’t think that’s a reasonable assumption to make about the first release. INDD import seems unlikely, at least in the early years, and even IDML import will probably be quite a long way off.

One of the key factors in my changing from the Adobe Creative Suite to Publisher will be its ability to import native InDesign files. I see the beta can open PDF files saved from InDesign. That at least is a half-way solution. Like many I have hundreds of InDesign files that I will want to access if I make the switch.

Make them PDF and import them into APub, use version .58 of APub, it works better than beta .57 ;)

Is it possible to pre order Affinity Publisher now?

Why would you want to do that? The price won’t change between now and retail release, and since it’s a downloadable product there’s no danger of its becoming out of stock.
