PaulD
Running iMac High Sierra. When editing a pic from Photos, I get this error: "Failed to save document: /Users/pauldibono/Library/Group Containers/6LVTQB9699.com.seriflabs.extensions/intermediates/Apple Photos Document.afphoto" "Save failed because photo open in another app." The only app open is Photos and Affinity. Tried Flattening then saving... no luck?
R C-R
When you say, "editing a pic from Photos" how are you doing that? If the photo is in the Apple Photos Library, you should only edit it using the "Edit in Affinity Photo" item from the Photos edit window. You should not open the file directly from Affinity Photo's File > Open Recent menu item, if that is what you did. (It really should not appear there. I have reported that as a bug but so far nothing has been done about that.) Regardless, you should not be saving anything directly into the Group Containers/6LVTQB9699.com.seriflabs.extensions folder in your home folder's Library folder, or directly opening or saving anything in any of Apple Photos' Library folders. PaulD
Thanks for your reply R-C-R: I go from pic in Photos Edit to the Extension "edit in Affinity Photo' . To return to Photos after editing I Flatten and Save. Then I get the error.
firstdefence
I've just done this and get no error, it might be helpful if you could explain the editing process that caused this, it could be a combination of actions that create this issue or a particular action, if you can reproduce the error consistently you may have found a bug but we are getting ahead of ourselves. If it's intermittent it could be a permissions problem or something akin to that, that has gotten screwed up. Just for laughs, have you run First Aid from Disk Utilities. Staff Leigh Posted July 2, 2018 Staff Share Posted July 2, 2018 What happens if you use the 'Edit With' feature instead of the Affinity Photo Extension? This can be accessed by right clicking the image when viewed in Apple Photos. PaulD

Staff Leigh Posted July 3, 2018 Staff Share Posted July 3, 2018 The extension should work but we've had a few reports about it not working for a couple of other users. I will log your issue with our devs for further investigation.

If you mean with the Apple Photos app, you might need to repair your Photos Library. PaulD
Yes. I go Edit on the Photos pic, then DxO Extension. Contacted DxO about issue and was told they no longer support this app on... Apple? This was several months ago. Photos app seems OK other than Extensions issues. Whats downside to running Repair app? Newbie question. AFAIK, just what is mentioned in the Apple article (could take a long time to complete and/or the note about iCloud Photo Library). Just finished editing in Affinity using 'Edit with...". New problem. Message "closing the library' has been up for 15 minutes. Can't close Photos or shutdown the Mac. Tried Photos Repair app. can't do that without shutting down Photos first. Related to extensions or new problem? Help!!!!!!
