How do i remove this background

I have been trying so hard to remove a background and im having no luck with tutorials as they keep talking about flood selection tool, and its not working. And then when I traced it and deleted it, it remove the picture and not the background ( Yes it was inversed) Can I get some help please? The background im trying to remove is in the attatchment

With the flood selection tool select the white background and delete this, deselect and export as a png without background.

Check that the Context toolbar for the tool shows ‘New’ or ‘Add’ mode, not ‘Subtract’ mode.

In that case, you need to invert the selection.
