Marquee selection tool does not work

I'm an experienced PhotoShop user, but new to Affinity Photo. I've tried to select an area by using the Marquee Tool the way I've always been used to, but it hasn't worked. When I tried to work with the selected area, whole picture was changed, as if all of the picture area was selected.

I've tried to figure out where the problem was, but found no solution. The Affinity documentation didn't help.

Hi Pavel,

Please could you right click the layer you are trying to select and choose rasterise and see if this makes your selection work?
