Hello everyone!

Today I gave another try to Affinity Photo. There has been some updates..

Shortcuts still does not work properly.. ok. let's wait.

A basic function we use everyday in PS is the level layer. We use the clipping (in PS, pressing alt on Mac) to precisely set the value for each channel. It does not seem to work on Affinity.. Also you can not change channel using cmd-2, cmd-3.. like on PS.

Any chance it will be implemented ?

Regarda

Hi @nicoppc,

The clipping tool works for the master channel. If you want to check individual channels, you have to add 1% black and 99% white to the master, and the individual channels will work. This issue has already been logged.

Thanks,

Gabe.

Another question: Does the mask work ?

It seems not possible to mask or unmask (by painting using the brush tool). Also, it's not quiet possible to select layer or its mask. Affinity selects both..

Affinty Photo is really different from PS... I am trying since 10 min to fill my mask with white..

Hi nicoppc,
All live adjustments/filters have a buit-in mask. You can paint on them/edit as if they were a regular mask. You can refine their built-in masks when they are nested to another layer (but not when they are independent).

You can also create masks, greyscale layers, spare channels and overall manipulate them through the Channels panel (righ-click on them there to check the options you have). Currently it's not possible to copy/paste mask information directly from one mask to another.

You will find general information about maks in the video tutorials below:

Hello!

Using latest Affinity Photo (1.8.3), I noticed the issue (level clipping per channel only work if master level is not 0) is still there. Please fix this :). This is one of our most used tool which is not as good as PS.

As PS CS6 is not working anymore on current MacOS and that High Sierra will not be supported long anymore, this feature is most needed to fully replaced PS.

Regards
