Laura Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 I need to have my colour in CMYK for printing for a particular printing company but when i change my profile to CMYK the colour changes, how can i swap to CMYK but retain the exact same colour of USwebcoated SWOP v2 My current set up is: Colour format is CMYK Colour Profile is Us Webcoated SWOP V2 Quote
Staff Gabe Posted June 20, 2018 Staff Posted June 20, 2018 Hi @Laura, Welcome to the forums. I think you're a bit confused about this. CMYK has different colour (paper) profiles. By default, when you convert to CMYK, you will get US Webcoated SWOP V2. You can change this by going to Document > Convert ICC profile and choose a different profile. Thanks, Gabe. Quote
Laura Posted June 20, 2018 Author Posted June 20, 2018 Thanks Gabe, sorry it's hard to write it clearly and i'm still learning. i just can't figure out how to prevent losing the colour Eaxmple 2.pdf is what colour i need to maintain but i keep ending up with this proof from the company example 1.pdf so i thought it may have to do with my colour profile not being set exactly to generic CMYK. Everything else i print professionally is perfect expect for this one company that must have CMYK the colour never matches our branding colours. Quote
Staff Gabe Posted June 20, 2018 Staff Posted June 20, 2018 If you're sending this to a professional printing company, you should be using their ICC profile. Probably that's why it does not match the standard CMYK. I suggest you get in touch with them and ask for their ICC profile ( printer profile ) and they're export preferences ( spot colours, overprint, etc) Quote
