Jaffa Posted June 19, 2018 Posted June 19, 2018 In Affinity Photo, I did what I used to do in Photoshop. Firstly I made a selection of the area in the image that I wanted to replace - a dog. I went to a selection tool, which has 'New' as an option in the Context toolbar (Rectangular Marquee Tool) . With the setting of New, I then moved the selection outline only to the area of road that I wanted to use to replace the dog. Then did a Copy followed by a Paste. As I expected this produced a new layer with that shape, but instead of it being a piece of road, it was the dog. So, it appears that in this procedure that Affinity Photo and Photoshop are different. If someone could advise me please as to how to do this in Affinity Photo Quote Jafa - Just Another Fantastic Aucklander (Jim) Windows 11 Affinity Photo 2.4 Lightroom 6 Nik Collection and Topaz Denoise AI Intel Core i7 9700K @ 3.60GHz 32 °C Coffee Lake 14nm Technology

When you move the outline to the road and copy and paste, select the Move tool to move the road over the dog. BTW, instead of copy and paste, you can press Ctrl + J to duplicate the selection area to a new layer. Jaffa 1 Quote Windows PCs. Photo and Designer, latest non-beta versions.
