retrograde
Any plans for a vector eyedropper similar to the pixel eyedropper with the option key? Very useful tool... retrograde
For now I've been using copy>paste style onto a new object to get the gradient or transparency settings of another object. This works but it requires you to select the first object, then hit command c then select the second object and hit command shift v. I do this a lot during a work session and sometimes the object you want the attributes from is hard to select. A simple eyedropper tool assigned to a key would allow for a click sample, click paste attribute transfer. Staff TonyB Posted September 7, 2014 Staff Share Posted September 7, 2014 If it's just colour you want then what is wrong with the current eyedropper in the colour panel? Just drag the picker onto the colour you want and then use the colour swatch next to it to assign that colour as many times as you like. retrograde
Hi Tony no my wording wasn't correct there, I'm actually looking for more than colour... but for starters I totally didn't realize that after dragging out the picker you had to click the little swatch to create the colour... I saw it and noticed it was reading the eyedropper fine but I thought it wasn't working or I just didn't get it... what's the reasoning behind having to click the little swatch? Just in case you want to revert? Also It's only picking up colour which is fine but not a gradient or an appearance or an effect which is what I'm after. I know of the copy and paste style and I've been using it a lot, but that requires you to copy and paste every time... I really think a tool (with a shortcut) that with one click can load the appearance, colour, gradient, effects, strokes etc... and with a second click drop onto a shape would be a huge timesaver. When you do these things hundreds of times on a project it adds up.
