Hello

I was wondering if anyone can explain me something. This is a question originally posted on a group on Facebook by someone using Photoshop, but the behavior is the same in Affinity Photo.

If I have two files, one in sRGB and another in Prophoto color space, and I use the brush with a color RGB (255,0,0), the result in Prophoto looks really strange (highly saturated in the middle and purple fringing).

But if I match the colors in LAB, they look the same.

Can someone explain me why this happens?

I made a short video of the issue to illustrate it better.
