Staff MEB Posted June 12, 2018 Staff Share Posted June 12, 2018 Hi Gt1, Welcome to Affinity Forums All RAW files should open in Develop Persona (not Photo Persona as you seem to be describing). How are you opening the RAW file in Affinity Photo? Are you sending it from a third party software? Gt1
By Mac album I mean where my images are stored on my Mac as raw files ready to edit. I f I load from there it does not open as a .CR2 and opens in Photo persona. If I load from the Compact flash direct it opens as a .CR2 and opens into Develop persona. so now I think its something to do with the Mac.? Thanks for the reply. Is this maybe an Apple Photos library, or is it just a regular folder somewhere on your Mac? If a regular folder, what do you see for the file name extension or file type if you select one of the files & from the Finder's File menu choose "Get Info"? Gt1
it is an album within the photos icon. The file ext is .CR2. I created a folder to download my raw files to so I can go through them and process the keepers. thanks for your help. Graham

Do you mean that you open the Apple Photos application (it is an app, not just an icon), go to an album you have created in that app, & select a photo that the Apple Photos info window identifies as having a .cr2 extension? If so, how exactly do you open it in Affinity Photo? For example, on the Apple Photos File menu there is an Export item with several choices, one of which is "Export unmodified original."
