Abcarli1988
Ok so I am new to Affinity Designer and have been working with it for a little over a week. Maybe I am missing something obvious, but is there a way to edit the flow while using the vector brush tool? I'd like to lessen the flow with the strokes I am using. Thanks in advance for you help. Staff MEB Posted June 12, 2018 Staff Share Posted June 12, 2018 Hi Abcarli1988, Welcome to Affinity Forums No, The Flow option/setting is only available for raster based brush tools in Pixel Persona. Abcarli1988
Ok thanks so much. I've been weary of going back and forth between the two persona's because I've found editing pieces later more complicated cause it's all new to me, but I suppose that is the idea behind the program. Thanks again.
Abcarli1988
Ok so I switched over to pixel mode, and at first could get the paint brush to work at all. Then I used the marquee tool to make a big rectangle and could use the brush only inside the rectangle. I'm just wonder why this is and if this is how it is suppose to work? Abcarli1988
Maybe you could link me to another forum that talks about this? Thanks
Staff MEB Posted June 12, 2018 Staff Share Posted June 12, 2018 You must have a pixel layer selected (or create one if the program didn't do it automatically for you) for the paint brush to paint on. Regular "layers" in Designer (identified as Layer between parenthesis after the layer's name in the Layers panel) are just for organisational/structuring purposes. So make sure you have a pixel layer selected before you paint (it's identified as Pixel between parenthesis in the layers panel after the layer's name). gdenby
Hi, Abcarli1988, Also make sure the "protect alpha" box is not checked. If its on, one can only paint on areas that already are painted. No paint can go on the blank area. Oh, and you can change the opacity of the vector brush strokes, which will give much the same effect as changing the flow rate on pixel brushes.
