Seneca
1. How can I add a background colour to a text box? I know I can create another layer but this seems like a work-around. 2. How can I align a text in a text box. I should be able to Align Top, Align Centre, Align Bottom within a text box. 2. Can I lock a layer and still be able to edit it. To me locking means preventing a layer from being moved. Adobe solves this problem by adding an option in the Preferences: Allow editing when the layer is locked. (or something like that) Suggestion: The Corner Tool is great. But I would prefer it to manipulate all corners at once. What I mean is when I change one corner all should follow suit. But when I hold the Option key I should be able to edit each corner individually. 00Ghz
+ 1 for the corner tool improvement. Also while the red circle is nice is hard to see the actual rounded corner. Staff MattP Posted February 25, 2015 Staff Share Posted February 25, 2015 Simply press Cmd+A when in the corner tool to select all nodes and drag these to set corners. We use Cmd drag on the node so that you drop through to the actual node tool and can adjust the position of the underlying curve node. The corner tool has new UI in today's beta and is far less intrusive :)
Dave Harris
We don't currently support vertical alignment of text; only horizontal (left, centre, right). You will have to move the entire text frame instead, I'm afraid.
Seneca
Thanks for your suggestion Busenitz but I don't think this works. The background colour in the Character command highlights only the text not the entire box. If you type just a word and the text box stretches the entire page, that word only will be highlighted. And that's exactly what it is. It's just a text highlighter. I should be able to colour the text box independently of the text. Of course I might have misunderstood your suggestion entirely. 2017 27” iMac 4.2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7 • Radeon Pr 580 8GB • 64GB • Ventura 13.6.4. iPad Pro (10.5-inch) • 256GB • Version 16.

puzzlekings
1. How can I add a background colour to a text box? +1 for this as a feature request, as adding another layer is tedious when you have lots of these and they need to change often. It would also be helpful to have shadows, effects etc on this at an object/frame level. cheers Nalin
