Husbandman
Maybe I am doing this the wrong way, but many times I want to place an image in a rectangle to crop it. At some point, I will want to change the rectangle but when I do it changes the content changes with it. That usually distorts the contents. Is there another way doing this or how can I adjust the size of the rectangle without adjusting the contents? leshido
Not sure if that's what you mean, but at the top bar you have a checkbox labeled "Lock Children". Checking it with the parent rectangle selected should allow you to scale it without causing transformation to any element within it. Sig. I seem it should be a per object setting located in the layers submenu. Quote Macbook Pro 13 (Mid 2010) - Web Designer

Maybe I am missing something but considering the limited space in the Layers menu & that it only applies to parent layers, I suspect the designers placed it in what they consider to be the most visible location. Guest
For me, the "Lock Children" button appears after applying the mask and selecting it. If the picture only is selected the button does not appear.

So for example, if the mask layer is not the parent of any other layer, it will not appear. Are you seeing something different? No, I misspoke, I didn't use the right terms to "explain" the behavior I get.
