RAW Files from my Olympus Tough TG-5

Recommended Posts

When I open a Raw File from my new Olympus TG-5 the image looks horrible. Colors completely dull and muted and the focus is soft.  I've opened the same file in my other Imaging Programs like DXO Photolab or Luminar 2018 and PS6 and they look completely different, Sharp, Bright, Color Rich. What an I doing wrong in Affinity?

The TG-5 does not seem to be on the list of supported cameras for raw processing using the Serif Labs Raw engine, which may explain what you're seeing.

If you're a Mac user you might have other options, which are listed in other posts pointed to by that one.

Hi fon,

Welcome to the forums :)
As @walt.farrell has mentioned, Affinitys RAW support doesn't currently include your camera. I have checked Apples RAW support list and this also does not include your camera, meaning Affinity is currently unable to correctly handle your RAW files from this camera, my apologies.

We are constantly updating our app however and hopefully compatibility will be available in the near future!

Please note -

I am currently out of the office for a short while whilst recovering from surgery (nothing serious!), therefore will not be available on the Forums during this time.

Should you require a response from the team in a thread I have previously replied in - please Create a New Thread and our team will be sure to reply as soon as possible.

Many thanks!

Walt, thank you.  That makes complete sense.  I may send a request to get it supported.

Yes, it would be great if support could be added at some point for the Olympus Tough TG-5. It is a great little, tough camera.  Has nice features and the undrwater shots are excellent.

When is RAW for TG-5 going to be supported in Affinity? I've just bought a TG-5 and got it specifically because it does RAW but they don't open in the same way as the raw images from my Canon. The image is distorted and clicking on 'Apply tone curve' doesn't have much effect.
