Tools Stop Working

Recommended Posts

I just had another instance of the tools ceasing to work

I was using the patch tool and at some point, it stopped.. Areas would get selected but that is it. I tried using the selection as source and it was dead also.

I tried to add a brightness adjustment and the slides did nothing. I saved it out and upon  reloading , everything worked as expected

I had several images loaded and without closing the program, the others were fine

I have no idea what might have caused it, but this is not the first time. It is rare and random

@Rick G:

I,too, have noticed this on a couple of photos (Affinity Photo 1.6.4.104/Windows7). I just closed the project and reopened it and got the functionality of the tools back. However, I lost any changes I had made prior to losing control of the sliders. I did not save the changes as I was not sure if the photo had gotten corrupt or not.

Edit: oops, this is not concering the Beta version--sorry.

Was it not working or was it not updating the screen?

Not working at all but only on that one picture. Others that were loaded at the same time were fine. Reloading that JPG and continuing worked just fine

Thanks for the response

If you have an open issue for the release you could post the link to the issue in here and this one back to your thread so they can easily follow along with the issue.

Thanks for your reply BTW

That's too bad. In a situation where I do not want to overwrite the file but want to keep changes I try to save the file under a 'temporary' file name basically creating a copy of the file.

Once everything is up and running again I can go back to both of them and compare if there are differences and sort things out
