I shot a panorama using my iPhone 8 the other day, brought the JPG into Photo to enhance and notice thin vertical lines in areas of consistent color - such as sky. Perhaps due to the phone stitching many images? Is there any way to eliminate these? How? Thanks for a great editor. Seems like it would take a lot of careful vertical line painting and crossing fingers ... MEB, here is a piece of the original JPG that shows that problem. I figured that "post an example" would be the first response but I typed my question on my iPhone where I no longer have the photo stored and hoped someone who has seen the problem before might be able to provide a quick response. Is there a better/simpler way than the in-painting tool? If not - if you could suggest settings with that tool I'll appreciate it. Have you edited it in any app? I think you'll have a hard time removing those bands, you need to disrupt the pattern but you have to add so much noise or blur it makes the image look painterly, changing whatever you add to different blend modes still shows the bands. It's all the same better - you have more control over it. I just have an iPhone 5s but I frequently see this sort of thing when light levels change during an outdoor pano shot, like when light & dark clouds are moving quickly across the sky. I’ll play with it ... one of the great things about digital photography is that I can copy the file, play with it to my heart’s content, and revert to the original if I screw it up. PLShutterbug Posted June 3, 2018 Author Share Posted June 3, 2018 I finally got a chance to work on the photo this afternoon. I applied a new brightness/contrast adjustment layer to accentuate the lines, and then selected the background pixel layer. I then used the inpainting brush and went over the photo in vertical stripes, small stripes at a time.
