Mr. K
Is there a way to place burn and dodge changes on a separate layer?
firstdefence
Not using the tools but you might be able to create a pseudo dodge and burn using layers spraying tones of white or shades of black onto them in the areas you want lightening or darkening and blend modes to apply those layers. But other than that dodging and burning seems to be a destructive process. You can duplicate the image layer and dodge and burn that so you have the original to go back to. HVDB Photography
Add a new pixel layer fill it with 50% gray (you can use a shortcut i.e. Miscelaneous > Set fill to 50% gray) set the blend mode to overlay In the context toolbar, choose a tonal range .. and start doging or burning .. or create that layer on the fly using my attached macro Dodge & Burn.afmacros Alfred, leonardo.rubicondo, Mr. K and 1 other 2 2 Quote Affinity Photo 2.3.1 Laptop MSI Prestige PS42 Windows 11 Home 23H2 (Build 22631.3007) - Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8565U CPU @ 1.80GHz 2.00 GHz - RAM 16,0 GB
