Cyran Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 I have been unable to import Encapsulated Postscript files with AD. Currently, I am opening them and then saving them as CS6 .ai files before I can use them. Is there a workaround? I tried to attach an example file but I was informed by the post software that I am not permitted to upload this kind of file. Thank you. Cyran
Markus Dierolf Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 It is possible to import EPS files, but there still some glitches. I have some strange effects with CMYK-colors and with very old files. Still testing ... If you can't upload it directly, try to compress it as a ZIP file, then it should work - or mail it to the friendly staff here, they are always have a helping hand for us :) Oh, and if you're not using the beta version - try downloading it for free and test it again :) iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2017), i7 4.2, Radeon 580 Pro 8 GB, 40 GB DDR4-RAM, 1 TB Flash, macOS 10.14.6
Cyran Posted February 26, 2015 Author Posted February 26, 2015 Marcus: Thanks for the input. I have attached a zip file of the eps. It falls into the category of very old files. Rich/Cyran Diges Large Colon.zip
Staff MEB Posted February 26, 2015 Staff Posted February 26, 2015 Hi Cyran, Welcome to Affinity Forums, Thanks for posting the file. It is indeed very old. I'm logging this to be looked at. A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
vonBusing Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Regarding eps-import: It seems that AD always converts text to curves during import. This is quite annoying when the intention is to edit some texts. Any plans to fix that? (I'm using the beta)
Cyran Posted July 10, 2015 Author Posted July 10, 2015 Dear Affinity: I love everything you are doing and would willingly pay more to avoid Adobe. However, my problem with importing EPS files with AD still persists, even with the latest update. Please estimate the programmer time required for this fix and the hourly rate and I will pay for the fix if one of your programmers wishes to work a little overtime. Thanks
