Nathan K
I’m trying to create a homepage slider image for our organization’s website with dimensions of 650px X 325px. For some reason any text that I type appears slightly blurry around the edges, regardless of text size or DPI. The blurriness remains after export as well. I’m on the newest iPad Pro 12.9”. Any suggestions for this newbie? Thanks!
Staff Dan C Posted May 23, 2018 Staff Share Posted May 23, 2018 Hi Nathan K, Welcome to the forums If you use the Navigator fly-out from the right hand UI (compass icon) and set zoom to 100%, does your text appear blurry? Are you exporting to a rasterised format? (ie JPEG) I'd recommend reading through this thread with replies from MEB and one of our devs regarding zoom levels and blurriness. You could use blend options because we don’t have those usual anti-aliasing options, but have you tried the last three resampling methods? Staff MEB Posted May 23, 2018 Staff Share Posted May 23, 2018 Hi Nathan K, Welcome to Affinity Forums If the text is too small (or the font too complex - a script font for example) it may loose sharpness when exported to a small raster image. Affinity doesn't provide antialiasing options specifically for text nor the ability to turn antialiasing off, so unless the text is tweaked manually at a pixel level there isn't much you can do. Selecting a different resampling method on export as Oval suggested may also help to increase text's contrast but will not fix the "blurriness" issue. As far as I’m aware, there is no Coverage Map control in the iPad version of Affinity Photo. Edit: From a quick test here, although increasing the gamma does help a little, it doesn’t completely remove the antialiasing.
