Tone Mapping - No Preview or Selection

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

I just moved to a Mac and purchased Affinity via the App Store. I am not able to select Tone Mapping Persona for my images. Any idea/help from the community? Attaching a screenshot of what I see.

Thanks,

Vishnu

Hi Vishnu Nambiar,

Welcome to Affinity Forums :)

It may be a casual glitch. Launch the app with (ctrl) held down until a Clear User Data dialog appears. Remove the ticks for Don't restore window and documents. Leave only Clear User Defaults and Reset Studio checked then press Clear. Then check again in Affinity. Does the issue still persist?

Is this happening with all images or just with this one? What is created from an HDR Merge or it's just a regular image?

Should have checked this earlier. This seems to happen with only this image. This was a RAW capture from my camera with some minor curves and HSL adjustments (in layers).

Thanks for the info. Do you mind uploading the original .afphoto document using this link so we can take a look/check if we experience the same issue here?

All files will be deleted after being checked. Thanks.

Sure. As attached. I will also retry using the original image and tonal mapping.

Thanks for the file. I'm experiencing the same issue here. There's something weird with this file. Issue logged to be looked at.

I think the pixel layer is causing it. I was able to reproduce the issue on a new RAW file by going into Tonal Mapping with selection of a pixel layer. Leaving it to the experts.

This is not "working" because the selected pixel layer is empty so there's nothing to preview/show in the presets/thumbnails. If you select the background layer the presets will appear as expected.

Understood and thank you for the information. Just a random thought, would it make sense to add an error message or information pop up for noobs like myself in such scenarios? Thanks again and keep up the awesome work.
