firstdefence
Have you tried using Adobe DNG Converter to convert to a DNG file? Make sure its the latest version 10.3 which does support the M50 and CR3 files, so you can convert the file to a DNG. see image below. The list of cameras supported using the Serif Labs Raw engine can be found at the below link:Supported Raw Cameras (1.6.x) The newest Canon on that list is the EOS M5 (which was announced 2016 Quarter 4). Cameras released after that, such as the EOS 77D (announced 2017 Quarter 1), the EOS M6 (announced 2017 Quarter 2), etc. aren't yet supported (even though some may appear to open OK) by the Serif Labs Raw engine. The M50 (and with it cr3 files) was only announced recently (2018 Quarter 2), so your guess is as good as mine when it will be supported by the Serif Labs Raw engine. Someone from Serif may have more information when the list of supported cameras is likely to be updated, but I haven't seen them say anything previously. Back in January one of the developers was asking for sample camera raw files, which would indicate something going on behind the scenes, so perhaps they're planning to update the list of supported cameras when they release their DAM software... In the mean time you can process M50 CR3 raw files using Canon DPP 4.8.30, which supports all Canon raw files from the EOS D30 (announced 2000 Quarter 2) to your EOS M50:https://www.canon-europe.com/support/consumer_products/products/cameras/digital_slr/eos-m50.aspx?type=software&language=EN
SeattleInspector
Mac Image preview opens CR3 format so I would hope Affinity Photo plans an update to do the same, real pain for it not.
