Ctrl+shift doesn't work with the Marquee Tool, but works with the Shape Tool

Recommended Posts

I am not sure if this is a bug or not, but when I am using the Marquee Tool, I can't put the point of reference when trying to transform from the center of the selection by using ctrl+shift. However, when using shapes like the Rectangle Tool, Ellipse Tool, etc., etc., it is now possible to use ctrl+shift to place the point of reference at the very center of the shape while transforming it. Considering that both Tools have basically the same controls, not being able to use ctrl+shift with the Marquee Tool is a bit odd and seems to be inconsistent.

Hi Frozen Death Knight,

Welcome to Affinity Forums :)

These modifiers were never implemented for the Transform Tool so it's not really a bug but i see your point. I'm moving this thread to the Feature Requests section.

If you are using Affinity Photo you can work around this limitation drawing a shape from the centre where you need it, converting it to curves, then changing to the Pen Tool and clicking the Selection button in the context toolbar to convert the shape to a selection.
