Affinity Designer Assets Drag and Drop Problem.

Greetings,

 

I'm having a bit of a problem. I'm trying to make my own assets. I followed the process of creating a new category and subcategory and normally it should allow you to drag and drop an item into the subcategory section but its not. Instead i have to right click on the lines on the right and click on add from selection to add them into the assets. I've seen on youtube that they're suppose to be a black shade under the sub category that lets you place it but it doesn't let me drop anything in the sub category side.

Are you on Mac or Windows? Dragging a shape or design onto the assets panel is only available on Mac I think.

Windows. So how would you create an asset on windows?

From the Help for Affinity Designer on Windows:

To create an asset:

1. Select one or more objects or groups on the page or via the Layers panel.
2. Do one of the following:
   • Drag the selection into the Assets panel (the cursor will change to show a plus icon).
   • On the Assets panel, click a subcategory's options menu and select Add from Selection.

However, the other day I was not able to get the Drag method to work. I was unsure if I was doing it correctly, but I suppose it's possible that the Help info is wrong, or there's a bug on Windows.

That's what I tried on Windows, @firstdefence, and it doesn't work. (Just tried again on 1.6.5.109; still doesn't work.)

I don't think you can drag and drop to the Assets Panel on windows.

Then the Help shouldn't say you can

Windows you cant drag and drop I assume. On Windows you have to click on add selection on the right side like the gif points out. But why they do drag and drop for mac and not Windows?

Possibly a feature of the OS that allows this ability on Mac. The Help file should indicate Mac and Windows options i.e. (Mac Only)

Seems to be a known bug, not yet fixed.

Hope it gets fixed soon in Windows, dragging and dropping an asset is much more intuitive.
