RosieF
Has anyone solved the problem with opening Raw files in Windows 10? Is there an easy way to view these, prior to opening for editing in Affinity Photo?
Staff Lee D Posted April 27, 2018 Staff Share Posted April 27, 2018 Hi RosieF, Welcome to the forums. Windows 10 has built in RAW support, this allows it to preview RAW files while in Windows Explorer. However it may not have support for some of the newer camera makes and models, so you end up with a generic icon being displayed. This is where you need to open the files in an app that does support the format so they can be viewed. Some codecs are available to download for some RAW formats to be installed into Windows, this will allow previews to to be seen. Try doing an internet search for the codecs to see if ones are available for the RAW files you have.
