Correcting color casts in photos

Is there a way to set grays in Affinity Photos? Many images I run across have color casts, normally I set grays, then blacks, then whites. Is there anyway to do this in Affinity Photo. So far the only way I see is to manipulate the Channel Curves.

If you go Layer > New Adjustment Layer > White Balance Adjustment you can use the Picker to set "white points". They can be grey, as long as they are neutral, they don't have to be white.

 

Click on Picker in the White Balance Adjustment panel and then click on the document. You set set multiple points to average them out. Just press down Shift while you click on the image with the picker to set them. If you look at the Status bar on the bottom of the window, Photo tells you how many points you have set.

 

Once you have done that, you can "tweak" the image using the White Balance and Tint sliders.

Then, if you click on "Add Preset", you can make a preset and use that to apply the same settings to multiple photos taken with the same lighting (same colour cast). The presets you create will appear in the Adjustment panel (in the Studio) under White Balance.

 

 

BTW, if you have set multiple white points by Shift clicking, just click once and drag slightly (without shift held down) to clear them and start again.
