Which product should I choose

Recommended Posts

Hi

I have some blogs, some of graphics can be done on free software like Canva but I am also creating some tutorials (for example for Wordpress). And I was struggling to find some good software that would allow me to create in a quick way graphics for tutorials.
I want some frames, arrows, some step-by-step graphics.

Also graphics for blog headers and other things that may be useful on blog(s).

As well that kind of stuff:

I came across affinity but I am not sure whether should I choose Photo or Designer. I started with photo trial but it is only week long. I am not a graphic designer so I cant evaluate it properly probably, that's why I am asking for an advice.

Photo or Designer.

Eventually I will probably buy both, but for now I want to stick with one of the products.

Hi, zychoo,

I still use GIMP a lot, but like like GabrielM, think Designer would suit your needs well. There would be a learning curve, but once you are thru that, you'll find the program is really well organized. Attached, and example of something similar to the work you linked.

Took maybe 5 minutes, even tho' I'd never tried anything like it.

Technically, arrows as shapes were implemented several versions back, but what most of us seem to miss most is a selection of arrowhead types for paths.

Hi Zychoo,

It seems we are in the same boat. I am using Affinity Designer and Photo. For drawings I use definatelly Designer. To be honest, I use Designer much more than Photo.

Designer is fast and already very powerful. Learning curve can be a little steep, but there is a workbook both for Designer and Photo. There are also many Designer and Photo courses on Udemy.com.

I mainly use Designer for drawing, nothing else. Together with a Wacom Intuos 5 medium tablet, drawing is very powerful and easy.

If you also do photographs, then both are a very good investment. With the upcoming Publisher, we will have a very good arsenal of tools.

Hope this helps.

Chris
