Vika Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 Hi all! I'm migrating to Affinity from Photoshop and cannot for the life of me find the tool similar to LAYER BLENDING OPTIONS to remove light color or white backgrounds. I also don't see the TRANSFORM tool to stretch and twist images. thank you!!! Quote
Staff MEB Posted April 19, 2018 Staff Posted April 19, 2018 Hi Vika, Welcome to Affinity Forums To access the Blend options click the cog icon on the top right of the Layers panel. To remove a light or white colour background besides the Blend Options try the Erase White Paper filter (menu Filters ▸ Colours ▸ Erase White Paper). To stretch/shear images select the Move Tool (black arrow icon) and drag the bounding box handles of the selected objects (approaching the middle and corner box handles from the outside will change the cursor/operation to shear and rotate respectively). For complex/irregular transforms use the Mesh Warp Tool (almost on the bottom of the toolbar on the left (double-click inside the mesh area to add new control points - edit them as if they were nodes on a path), or the Perspective Tool (click the small triangle in the Mesh Warp Tool button to open a pop-up and access the Perspective Tool. For Perspective distortions you can also use a live Perspective filter (menu Layer ▸ New Live Filter Layer ▸ Perspective Filter) which is non-destructtive and can be (re)edited double clicking its layer's thumbnail icon in the Layers panel. For advanced distortions tools (to manipulate human body/faces etc) check the Liquify Persona (second icon on the top left of the interface). For a copmplete set of video tutorial covering these and other tools please check the Official Affinity Photo Video Tutorials thread. You can also learn more about them in the Affinity Photo Help.
