How to draw a guitar pick - Affinity Designer

Recommended Posts

Sorry, if my question is too stupid or doesn't belong here.

I want to design a guitar pick in AD, based on a triangle, with all sides being exactly the same. I tried messing with circles, triangles, heart shapes,

but whatever I did - I couldn't get all sides to look the same. Is there a tutorial that shows me how to make an object with exactly the same dimensions on all (in this case) three sides?

See the attached picture

Thanks

Instead of using the Triangle Tool, use the Polygon Tool and set the number of sides to 3. If you hold down the Shift key while dragging out a shape with the Triangle Tool you get an isosceles triangle whose base and height are equal, but if you hold down the Shift key while dragging out a shape with the Polygon Tool you get an equilateral triangle (which is what you want). The Context toolbar for the Polygon Tool also gives you a 'Curve' control and a 'Smooth points' checkbox; the former allows you to curve the sides of the shape, and the latter stops the corners being pointy.
