Hello Affinity Team,

switching a Persona sometimes takes a huge amount of time, especially switching to the Tone Map Persona (sometimes takes 15 minutes or longer). Canceling the operation would be very nice, since I could just continue working in the Develop Persona and not use Tone Map (at all or at that time).

Kind regards

Sebastian

Thanks for the reply. It doesn't if it is in the state as I described above. Stuck forever... killing the application is the only way out.

If it's taking that long then something is wrong. That is not normal behaviour. I am surprised that one the gurus has not picked up on this post.

It does sound like an issue, and as such should probably have been posted in one of the big forums rather than feature requests. That's where it would get the proper attention.

Yes, there is definitely something up. First of all, is this for the Windows or Mac version? Secondly, is it only Affinity that is behaving slow?

I have to ask, might you have additional hardware installed on the side? It may not seem like it matters and your issue might be completely unrelated to mine, but I have a USB hub for connecting additional devices since my computer only has two ports. But I didn't originally understand that the hub was not made for large devices like a tablet or external hard drive. As a result, my system was getting slower, icons turned to generic icons, there was freezing, files were not showing, and there were other faulty issues going on. All because of a hardware issue. This might be totally separate from your case, but it's worth bringing it up.

Here certain actions of AD and APh (e.g. startup) take noticable longer because I have a couple of external USB harddrives connected to my notebook. This is due to the fact that sometimes they have to spin up from 'sleep mode'.

I know about this and do not think it is Affinity's fault. But it took a while to find out the connection between the two issues and at first I thought it was a problem on AD's or APh's side.

It is by no means easy to figure out where a problem falls, especially when there is hardware that can't do what would be expected for it to do. There always seems to be some extra detail missing.
