Print quality from Affinity Photo tablet?

Recommended Posts

Hi - I’m a print photographer, primarily, and have just discovered Affinity Photo for the iPad Pro. I’m considering my workflow process and would like to move away from editing on the desktop as the Mac pencil is just so amazing and easy to work with.

Does anyone have experience editing and then printing strictly off of Affinity Photo tablet? Curious of the quality (are the prints true to color/expectation?) and ease of sizing, etc. Any thoughts or stories of success / failures would be extremely appreciated.

Thanks,

Trxr

Hi Trxr,

We hook into the IOS print side of things, so the print settings directly within the app are limited to the options offered by IOS and it's support for your printer.  Personally, i export out of Affinity and then use the iPad App from my printer manufacturer to do the printing as this give me more options.

Hopefully others who also print from their iPad will post how it fits into their workflow.

Same here, iOS print is too limited within the app. I export to jpg (or whatever format) and then use the Canon App to print it as it offers much more options.

You can get access to addition print setting options by using 3rd part apps such as Printer Pro or using the print manufacturers iOS app.

In the first example below is Epson iOS print app which gives access to paper type/size, paper trays, etc (not Normally available with iOS print.

Second example is Printer Pro app. Works with any iOS printer and offers better layout options and print to PDF option.
