Difference between tablet and desktop versions of Affinity Photo?

Hi - New to Affinity Photo here. Are there any differences in software capability for Affinity Photo on the desktop versus tablet versions? It looks like the short answer is “not really”, but I am having trouble confirming this.

There are some features provided on the desktop that are provided 'differently' on the iPad, or not yet accessible from the menus (but will run in the underlying code (Live Filters menu on desktop now available via macros on the iPad version). For example you cannot record macros or import colour pallettes but you can load and run macros (created on th desktop) on the iPad. There are other minor differences, particularly in the layout and access to tools and studios. Also no Plugins options on iPad version.

I have not yet found an effect produced on the desktop version that cannot be replicated on the ipad. Using the Apple Pencil on the iPad version of AP feels so natural. A great way to edit.

So, If I am able to take RAW photos and download them on to the iPad Pro Affinity for iPad Pro is just as good?  Then I suppose I would HAVE to save to iCloud there is no other way that I know of to transfer image off of iPad.  Is this correct?  It's August 31, 2018.

There are lots of ways to transfer images off of a iPad. You can do it by cable or wirelessly. Check out Documents (Readdle) for iOS. It simplifies connection to other pc's and macs, and provides wireless transfer. You can also use other cloud services such as Dropbox, or use a pc/Mac based program such as Easus mobimover for fast simple cable transfers. All free too.

As noted in the following post, Affinity Photo for iPad relies on iOS for system-level support, so you don’t have the option of using Serif’s own raw engine.
