hannah
Hehe good people, I must miss somthing obvious : (I am not working with a drawing pad, so) I just create a line with the path tool. To this line I can apply a texture/image brush, but the basic brushes that look like they would add a quill/pen-appearance don't work. I can make the path look thicker, but the line-thickness stays the same everywhere. I'd like the line to be thicker when more vertically oriented and thinner when horizontally oriented... 1) How to I achieve this/apply this look to an existing path? 2) When drawing a new line, using the vector-brush tool (behold, i draw using the f* mouse) from all the ways to apply the brush (pressure, automatic, velocity, etc.) only velocity shows any result (of course) but I have to draw super-speed-fast to have any result. Can I adjust the "sensibility" somewhere? Can someone help, please? thank you guys very much in advance!
gdenby
Hi, hannah, The quill pen look is not controllable by up or down direction. The size variance for vector strokes is due to velocity or pressure changes. The bit map brushes in paint persona will vary if the base map has a rectangular-ish shape, like a real nib. You can adjust the vector brush thickness via the pressure setting in the stroke dialogue, but that only changes the width along the length of the stroke. Again, not in direction. To get something more like a calligraphic form in vectors, at this point AD strokes would have to be made one at a time for each direction the letter form has. Not convenient, but do-able See attached for an extempore attempt. hannah
Thanks gdenby, for your answer (though I was hoping I just didn't find the feature, hahaha) I didn'r know about pressure setting in the stroke dialogue and it is is do-able, like you said, thanks for sharing! If anyone finds a workaround for a calligraphic appearance, I'd love to hear about it. Have a nice day, Hannah
