Affinity interface and Menu

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I strongly believe that Serif need to improve the Affinity interface for both Designer and Photo.

Affinity softwares deserves a more convivial user interface, more or better conviviality will even increase productivity and help inspiration to flow easy.

Not that it's bad but a refined interface /icon set and menu less what it is now may help.

I mind what other users of Affinity have to say about this.

I already think that it's convivial. Can you specify?

@Fatih19 Yes for sure.

In fact the design is okay for a starting product, it's same thing i've seen with Debian Linux years ago.

All the icons set in the interface is good but only for a starting product.

i mean when you look at front end design peoples achieve using AD, it's really impressive but the software itself is like stuck with its first generation interface.

I would advice for icon set polishing a bit more of flat design or metal or even minimalistic (like the one you have when you use dark theme on Mac).

Also i believe going minimalistic with high quality icons set and well organized menu will make the thing even better.

Please i'm not saying that this or that should be remove but i'm saying reorganize it to make more touchable, discret, efficient but beautiful and lightweight enough to load faster than it's actual load time.

Also the splash screen has to be upgraded with nicer but light Presentation.

i have attached an example of what i'm thinking about but please do not consider all different colors but instead visualize the idea behind.

a- Current Affinity Designer Tools (The top 4 are Nice) but others seems to be coming from another inspiration than the first one.

b- Current Affinity Designer top bar (Here all shall be redesigned to be more realistic and pure)

c- Just an idea (here please ignore the colors, reflect etc)

d- This is what we can find out there (just to bring balance into all this idea)

Now everything is put together for a kind of brainstorming to take place.
I know there are very talented UI designers in this forum who can come with very nice inputs and realizations that can help the Dev team for next releases or even comfort them in case they where planing something like this but wanted some inputs.

Another Good solution would be make of the same kind as they look too different one from another except the top 4 i mentioned.

I think there is a setting in preferences to change it to look flat.

Really ?

Let me check and maybe it will give me some new ideas.

Thanks @Fatih19
