I simply want to copy the selection...

Recommended Posts

Using designer.

I simply want to make a selection of whatever is on the canvas that I see, and copy it, and paste it again to use.

Everything inside my selection needs to be copied.

Simple? Been googling for 20 mins and nothing.

If you draw a selection marquee with the Move tool, press Ctrl C to copy, then Ctrl + V to paste. (Windows)

Move tool

Drawing a marquee. Everything inside the marquee will be selected (3 objects).

Copy and paste and you will get a duplicate layer of each.

You can paste into a different document if you wish.

Windows PCs. Photo and Designer, latest non-beta versions.

I struggled with this one but now it's such a natural reflex.

I propose you select everything and just clone it using ctrl+j or cmd+j.

Please reate Artboards, it's very helpful.

Affinity revolution, Affinity Designer and few others have nice tutorials on YouTube that will help you same I experienced.

Nice job @Vega
