Can anyone please help me is there any type of tutorial that shows how to do text like this with the black bg around the text and how it’s two tone color. Also my second question how can I get my lines to be more smooth when I trace something using the pen tool when I use it the lines come out choppy looking

  • Affinity Photo (APh) or Affinity Designer (ADe) ?

Solutions...

  • Find a larger image and trace using the pen tool
  • Find a similar font, apply a gradient fill and a black stroke
  • Find a similar font, apply a gradient fill and use the pen tool to make a black background to the text.

Ive saved the history with this file so you can scroll back to see what I did. Its a bit messy but I think you'll get the idea.

Hi Reese Jackson,

Thanks for the file. Are you referring to the jaggies on the edges of the continents? If so export the file 4x bigger than needed, then open the exported image and export it again (scaled down) to the original size you intended. This will help to smooth out the edges.
