Vladimir Putin realistic vector portrait

No pixels, all vector. This is a work in progress; so far only vector shapes have been drawn. After this custom made vector brushes will be applied to detail the pores, wrinkles, creases and hairs. Progress sequence at: https://communicats.blogspot.nl/2018/03/vladimir-putin-vector-portrait.html

He increased wages in Russia between 300 and 400% since he came to power, decreased inflation from 21 to 2%, raised minimum wages several times and will do it again with 43% on May 1 this year. That's quite a bit more than western leaders have been doing for their people lately. Most Russians don't think the man is cold, regardless of what biased western media blabber.

I didn't realise that his eyelashes are virtually non existent in real life.

Am I the only one who thinks he would make the perfect Bond baddie? Or better still him and Trump and Kim Jong Un scrapping it out in the bear pit ala Two Tribes!

Does this sound like something America needs...probably? Pay your workers more: gets my vote any day.

Awesome art isocult.

Have you got much more to do?

If I was being picky I'd say he looks like he's got a fake tan, tone it down bit, maybe desaturate a bit and put some detail into the whites of the eyes, they look too white, they need some shading.

Like the texturing of the pores and you have his expression spot on.

I always draw first and tune later, which sometimes gets me into trouble, especially if many strokes and shapes are drawn as is the case with this portrait. It is feasible but just requires time and effort. The problem with Putin's appearance is that his face has many rather subtle features and very few that are pronounced (i.e. easy to draw). This portrait btw, is a work in progress to which changes will be made to existing areas in a later stage. To give an idea of the complexity of the design, below is an outline view in which all (custom made) strokes and shapes are tuned individually.

which results into this intermediate stage:

It is a common problem for artists to decide if work is done. I usually quit when I'm fed up or messed up things beyond repair (which is difficult to do with AD). With regard to the Flight of the bumble bee, I prefer Danny Gatton and Buckethead.
