Yes you are right. i'm still learning and have used Ai and PS but never figured out the thing about masks but (i don't know if it's by preference) i found it easy to understand and to apply using affinity (photo and Designer) ... yet i'm to master the thing and make better design/photo works ... but on the other hand it would be nice if the Dev's can take that idea in consideration to improve the already existing tools. Also, it's so easy to remove background/objects using Affinity softwares so... tools improvement would be very nice for everyone.
