DTC867
I have decided to replace Photoshop and Lightroom with Affinity, having seen enough to convince me. I have one outstanding question to answer for my own benefit, and that is which software can I use to replace the Lightrrom Library, and can I import my Library to the new software? Can anyone offer advice please? Edited March 31, 2018 by DTC867 Forgot title
Staff Gabe Posted April 3, 2018 Staff Share Posted April 3, 2018 Hi @DTC867, Welcome to the forum. We currently do not support importing the whole Library from Lightroom, as neither Photo or Designer work as a DAM. You will have to re-import the images intro Photo as there is no "migration" implemented at the moment. Thanks, Gabe.
Staff MEB Posted April 3, 2018 Staff Share Posted April 3, 2018 Hi DTC867, Welcome to Affinity Forums There's quite a few threads about finding a Lightroom replacement / DAM (Digital Asset Management) to work with Affinity Photo. If you perform a search with these and similar terms - "Lightroom replacement", " DAM" - here in the forum you should find them pretty quickly. As you may guess the answers varies a lot and depends on what features you consider important/how you like to manage them (though a catalogue/database, folders etc). We hope to offer our own DAM software later as well but it may still take some time. km.au and DarkerBlack 2 Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software | Affinity Quick Reference

Polygonius
For what do you want replace LR? Just for organizing, catalogizing, managing... your photos. jpgs, textures....? Adobe Bridge is fantastic for just this and its compltely free. But it does not work with AP-files (and i guess it will never do;-) Quote OSX 12.5 / iMac Retina 27" / Radeon Pro 580X / Metall: on! --- WWG1WGA WW! Unfortunately there is no way to use GPS data (either to add or find) via a map. Skids
I believe that XNViewMP displays Affinity files.

It displays a small embedded jpeg - you can display an image but it's not much more than a thumbnail. Better than nothing though! Better than nothing though! Nope, *.afphoto files are just showing with app-symbol. At least on last highsierra and last xnview by default - is there an option? Nice tip, its really ugly, but very fast and very small (not like bridge with its 2GB over the whole system...). Quote OSX 12.5 / iMac Retina 27" / Radeon Pro 580X / Metall: on! --- WWG1WGA WW!
