Opening saves files.

Recommended Posts

Files saved using the save a copy command go to a folder called Photo and I can see it from my desktop using itunes  but I can't open it Affinity photo unless I've saved it to the cloud. It's not on the opening screen.

How do I open files saved to the Photo folder?

thanks

You should be able to open from local photo folder. Set General Preferences Save Location to Local IPad. When you are in AP use Open from Cloud. This opens Files. Tap on Local IPad and then tap on Photos folder to open.

Thanks, that works. I guess my understanding of “cloud” is a bit limited. Do you know if this was detailed in any documentation or tutorial?

i have the same problem with many iPad apps. I travel to places with very limited WIFI and I’d like to be working locally like I used to with the laptop.

The help file contains info on the interface. The 'Files' bit is not really covered in the iOS section as it only recently became available and Help has not reflected this access. There is some useful info in the Open in Cloud section. The help file is accessed through the project screen via a ? In top right corner. There is some really useful info there.

Tutes here.

Get a copy of Documents by Readdle from the App Store. It’s free, works with most apps (including photos) can create folders and nested folders, has vid player, browser and pic viewer. Access camera roll. Also connects wirelessly to networks and Clouds of all types. Swiss Army knife app.

I do most of most of my work locally on the iPad. I use Documents to setup all my Folders and just access my work via the relevant folders. File names are retained too so it makes it pretty easy to find what you want. Works extremely well with Affinity Photo.
