RickyO
I learn best by personally trying out what I see in tutorials. Where can I download the image used in the tutorial, (see link below). Thanks. https://vimeo.com/channels/affinitydesigner Quote RickyOAPh, ADe and APu user New User as of Mar, 2018 (Still stumbling along given too many directions at any given moment) Windows10 platform
Staff MEB Posted March 29, 2018 Staff Share Posted March 29, 2018 Hi RickyO, Welcome to Affinity Forums We don't provide the images used in the tutorials but you can easily replicate this with any similar image. The threshold adjustment is quite straightforward and easy to understand. Just try it with a portrait image and adjust the slider until you are happy with the effect (contrast between light/dark). RickyO
That's fine; appreciate the consideration and thought. BTW, I've been trying to use the online tutorials (vimeo) for AD. Personally, I think they're a disaster. Don't seem to be aimed at inexperienced/learning users; and, it appears no one has come up with a logical order for viewing: real mish/mash of subjects with no order or organization as to difficulty or a learning plan. Disappointing. I don't mind spending the money, but it if gets me what I've seen so far, I'm missing the value. AD seems like a great program. Too bad new users have to scratch their heads in wonderment for hours and days to get a grasp on the usage. I did order the workbook. Hoping it's a shade better than the tutorials. Thanks Mate. Staff MEB Posted March 30, 2018 Staff Share Posted March 30, 2018 Hi RickyO, Have you taken a look at this thread: Although they are not sequential, they are quite well organised by subject and the first sections should provide a good grasp of the application. The beginners section (only) also include the source images for you to follow along. If you have trouble with any tutorial don't hesitate in asking here in the forums. There's plenty of users and staff willing to help. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
